Despatch advice by email
When only a limited amount of consignments are shipped by a specific carrier, a simple email can be used to communicate the despatch advice. This is a very basic integration method and is not recommended for high volume lanes.
Process
- Upon trailer departure an email is sent to the carrier with the details of the consignment included.

Open Consignment to Enter Tracking Details
link in the email as shown above to enter tracking events within the consignment.- The screen is primarily used to mark the consignment as Delivered.
- The list of possible tracking events is maintained by Viya.
- This link is valid up to 7 days.
- In all cases, make sure to enter the actual event date and time. So not the date and time the event was inserted in the system.
- Other statuses are available in the dropdown list.
