UPS API Paperless - Customize configuration
These settings allow you to fine-tune how documents and data are handled when interacting with UPS for shipments. Each option is designed to address specific scenarios, ensuring accurate communication with UPS and compliance with regulations like ICS2. Whether you’re testing, managing invoices, or deciding when to upload forms, these settings provide flexibility and control for smooth shipment processing.
Do not upload documents to UPS
This setting ensures that no documents are transmitted to UPS when creating or updating a shipment. It is useful when:
- The documents are only needed for internal records.
- You do not want to share sensitive or unnecessary documents with UPS.
- The customs information will only be shared through data fields
Upload international forms data elements if ICS2 applicable only
This option ensures that international shipment data elements (like customs-related details) are only transmitted to UPS if the shipment falls under ICS2 (Import Control System 2) regulations. Learn more about ICS2
For non-ICS2 shipments, the data will not be sent to UPS. This prevents errors during the booking process caused by incomplete information while ensuring compliance for ICS2-eligible shipments.
Upload documents only if no invoice data is available
This option ensures that documents are uploaded for the shipment only when no invoice data (commercial invoice + line items) is provided.
If invoice data is included, documents will not be uploaded to avoid redundancy. This helps maintain clear and efficient communication with carriers while preventing potential errors.
Do not upload documents to UPS test environment
Enable this setting to prevent the upload of documents when using the UPS test environment.
Documents will not be transmitted to UPS during testing phases. This ensures that test shipments are processed without unnecessary document uploads, avoiding confusion or test environment clutter. Useful for testing shipment workflows without impacting document handling.
